Making Coloured Rice
Pour approximately 100ml of vinegar into a large bowl. Add your desired colour. We used approximately 1 bottle per 6 cups of rice. You can add more or less for darker or pastel colours. Stir in the uncooked rice one cup at a time, making sure the rice is evenly coated. Cover 3-4 baking trays in silver foil. Spread the rice thinly over the foil. Bake at about 50 degrees centigrade for 30 minutes. The rice should be completely dry but not burnt. Leave to cool completely before allowing children to play with the rice. Keep away from moisture.
